"Get Out": Black Skin, White Brains
Jordan Peele's Oscar winning (best script 2017) debut, "Get Out," is an offbeat chapter in the racist cinema. Beginning with a simple black and white love affair, it takes a complex turn, and unveils a hideous face of the racist subjugation. It echoes Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World". Love and deception and hypnosis and slave trade and cultural psycho-physical invasion are blended artfully in the story. Though the cinematography lacks freshness and the music is insipid, the movie makes up well for them with a gripping narrative. Above all, Jordon brings hope to those who are afraid to dream big films with small budget.
